22 sandy beaches!

Lopar is a true SANDY PARADISE! Kilometers of golden sand are the hallmark of Lopar; few places on the Adriatic can boast such a number of sandy beaches, offering a variety that caters to every guest’s taste. No fewer than 22 sandy beaches—along with many smaller, picturesque coves with sandy bottoms—line the Lopar peninsula and dot the nearby islets; they are accessible by car, on foot, by boat, or via water taxis from the San Marino and Lopar harbors.
Lopar’s beaches welcome their first swimmers as early as May; thanks to the shallow, sandy seabed, the sea warms up quickly, allowing the swimming season to begin much sooner than in other destinations. They also offer another major advantage: safety for swimmers—especially children—who can enjoy the shallow, warm waters without a care.
The largest and most famous is undoubtedly *Rajska plaža* (Paradise Beach), followed in popularity by *Livačina*, *Stolac*, *Mel*, and numerous others. There are larger beaches featuring full tourist amenities (dining options, sun loungers and umbrellas, water sports equipment, etc.), as well as more secluded, “Robinson-style” coves—whether sandy or rocky—where tourists can truly become one with nature. The island of Rab—and Lopar in particular—pioneered naturism on the Adriatic; consequently, naturists have always been welcome guests. Three nudist beaches have been designated for swimming and enjoying nature: Ciganka and Sahara allow nudism (FKK allowed), while Stolac is reserved exclusively for nudists (FKK only).
Access to the sea for people with reduced mobility and those with disabilities has been provided at Rajska Plaža, Livačina, and the Donji Mel and Gornji Mel beaches. One thing is certain: in Lopar, you will find the kind of beach you love, and swimming in the crystal-clear sea will be an unforgettable experience! Options range from Rajska Plaža to Livačina, Stolac, Sahara, Podšilo, Dubac, Sturič, Ciganka, Sić, Crikvena Dražica, Mel…

Rajska plaža

The largest and most famous sandy beach in Lopar is Rajska Plaža (Paradise Beach), frequently featured on lists of the top 10 Adriatic or top 100 Mediterranean beaches. Stretching 1.5 km and situated next to the San Marino hotel complex and a campsite—and easily accessible to guests staying in private accommodation—this golden sandy paradise is the first stop for every visitor to Lopar.
At Rajska Plaža, you will find rows of sun loungers with umbrellas, canopied daybeds for couples, numerous beach and cocktail bars, and dining venues offering everything from full lunches and dinners to fast-food snacks for a quick bite during the day. It is hard to resist the ice cream, crêpes, and *fritule* (small doughnuts) at any time of day!

Livačina

Right next to Paradise Beach (Rajska plaža) lies the equally attractive Livačina Beach, where several establishments nestled in the shade of pine trees offer food, refreshments, and a wide selection of beach and water gear. Livačina shares the same bay as Paradise Beach but is somewhat less crowded and better suited for relaxation. You can reach Livačina by car.
Those who prefer an even more intimate atmosphere and a quieter time on beaches with fewer swimmers continue on to other picturesque coves along the Lopar coast—though they do so without their cars.
Neither dog swimming nor nudism is permitted at Livačina.
